State Fair of Virginia • Racing Pigs
Objective: Create a composite image of four piglets racing side by side, down a race track. Process/Solution: The photographer worked with a farmer to build the set and photograph four of his piglets running around the track. Naturally, only one pig was posed correctly in any given frame, let alone all four. We composited the four hero images of the piglets in action into one master image, then colorized jerseys and added racing numbers in perspective. The background was desaturated and we applied a decreased depth of field effect to ensure the piglets were the focus of the image.
